The Noelkemper’s | Ellsworth, MI Wedding

Logan and Jeremy’s wedding planning began with a different venue, and about a month before their date the venue had to change. Wow! Let me tell you though, I heard their families mention throughout the day how perfectly everything ended up being, despite the last minute changes due to state guidelines. Their PLAN B wedding ended up so perfectly. You guys, it was STUNNING. I cannot say this enough! There were many instances where circumstances seemed to be leading the day astray and ended up being perfect! Let me tell you…

Let’s start with the getting ready location… a family friend rented a home on the lake for the weekend, walked into the home and then realized it wasn’t the one they had actually rented, but since they had already settled in, the homeowner allowed them to stay there. This place was so unique and so beautiful! Photographer’s dream!

The morning of their August wedding was very chilly, rainy and windy. I showed up wearing a jumbo rain jacket, a bit stressed wondering how their outdoor wedding was going to work out with the weather the way it was… then the whole process of getting ready went so beautifully, the wedding photographer in me was thinking “we got this!!”. As we drove from Lake Michigan in Charlevoix, MI to the ceremony and reception site at A Matter of Taste in Ellsworth, MI the rain poured! Yikes!

And then… just as I pulled into the parking lot at A Matter of Taste at Tapawingo, the rain stopped. The sky cleared up. Yay! The rain fell softly on and off until it was time to dry off the chairs and start the ceremony (a half hour later, due to weather). Just as the wedding party started walking down the isle, the clouds parted and the sun shined! It was so beautiful! So divine! Logan’s mom stated – this is my dad! He had passed away not long before the wedding, and I can’t say I’ve seen a more beautiful thing.

The rain stayed away the rest of the evening. Logan and Jeremy planned the backyard wedding setting to include multiple activities for their guests. They had personalized cornhole games, giant Jenga pieces for their guests to sign, a s’mores station, an ice cream bar and sparklers for their late night send off. Logan even planned for the table numbers to be written on large Petoskey Stones, as they hold a special place in the couple’s heart. Jeremy proposed to Logan while they were Petoskey Stone hunting – so sweet!

The candlelight decor glowed from under their tent and string lights twinkled as the sky turned to night. Everyone danced and enjoyed being together – especially after so many months of being forced to stay apart.

And they lived happily ever after. Awwwww!
